Never assume that we are living in the most advanced era of human history.

There’s a possibility that the Ancients are more technologically advanced than we are.

Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. As people moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there. They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar. Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.” — Genesis 11:1-4, NIV.

There’s something magical about the story of the Tower of Babel. For one, they are all descendants of Noah (aka, God’s chosen people; people with the Spirit of God within them). Second, it’s in Genesis…! These prehistoric people whom we assume were living in the stone ages were actually building a tower that “reaches to the heavens”… Isn’t it mindblowing! And I doubt it is a fairytale as most people would think. I think there is some full-fledged mystery behind this story that we’re completely missing out on. You see, we’re so blinded by the mesmerising nature of modern technology that we fail to realise that “what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 1:9, NIV).

Are you getting what I’m driving at? I’m proposing that there’s a possibility that the Ancients are more technologically advanced than we are.

I firmly believe that there are some hidden truths in the stories of old that points to a certain time in history that is forgotten. Even myths and legends should not be taken lightly. Yes, I’m referring to the legend of Atlantis [1]. The reason why Atlantis captured the imagination of many was because it was, “the embodiment of a materially wealthy, technologically advanced, and militarily powerful nation that has become corrupted by its wealth, sophistication, and might” [2]. Little is known about this “lost continent” except what was written in Plato’s account [3]. But chances are, if it really existed, I wouldn’t be surprised.

If we were to pay close attention to the Biblical narrative of the Ancients, we will begin to understand how backwards we are to think that we’re living in the most technologically advanced era in the history of planet earth.

Have you considered how Samson killed 3000 people by pushing two pillars of a building [4]? You know what’s the modern equivalent of killing 3000 people by intentionally demolishing a building? The September 11 attacks. When the many towers came down, 2977 perished in total [5].

Let us consider the scale of September 11 and then relook the story of Samson. Can you imagine the magnitude of destruction in Samson’s time? Can you picture how big that structure must have been? Consider how tall the structure must have been that by the pushing of two pillars, the entire building can come crashing down.

Seriously, I wouldn’t be surprised if some archaeologist found mobile phones or some technologically advanced devices or machine buried deep beneath the crust. Heck, I wouldn’t even be surprised if the ancients were technologically advanced to build machines that could explore the farthest reaches of the universe.

Would you think we are the most advanced creature in the universe?

I doubt it. We may not even be living in the most advanced era of human history.
